HIRED: Brett Breitkreuz joins Kinsmen Maulers as Assistant Coach

YORKTON — There will be a new face on the bench this season with the Yorkton Kinsmen Maulers.

Brett Breitkreuz, a product of Springside, has joined the club ahead of the 2026-27 season. Breitkreuz brings integral experience, as well as experience as a member of the U18 AAA organization itself.

Breitkreuz spent two seasons with the Yorkton Harvest U18 AAA program in 2004-05 and 2005-06, playing nine games with the SJHL’s Yorkton Terriers that season.

He then moved onto the WHL, playing with the Kelowna Rockets, Edmonton Oil Kings and Vancouver Giants over his multiple seasons in the league.

Breitkreuz then spent 14 seasons overseas in Germany, winning three championships in 2017, 2021 and 2022 in the DEL2.

With all that experience, Breitzkreuz will bring a wealth of knowledge to the room, and expands the Kinsmen Maulers staff to provide more support throughout the organization.

The 2026-27 Kinsmen Maulers season begins on Sept. 25 when the Swift Current Legionnaires come to the Westland Insurance Arena.
